WRITE participates in the 25th Biennial Conference of the European Association for Chinese Studies (EACS)

    On August 27 – 30, 2024 WRITE research team will participate in the 25th Biennial Conference of the European Association for Chinese Studies (EACS) organized by and hosted at Tallinn University, Estonia. The panel entitled “NEW EXPRESSIONS OF CALLIGRAPHIC ART IN CONTEMPORARY CHINA AND THEIR DATA KNOWLEDGE REPRESENTATION” is composed of four interventions: (1) “The contemporary hybridization of Chinese calligraphy and its continuity/discontinuity with the calligraphic tradition: the case of Wang Dongling’s experimental ink movement presented by Dr. Daniele Caccin. (2) “Calligraphy and performance art in contemporary China” presented by the PhD student Martina Merenda. (3) “THE NEW ERA OF CHINESE GRAFFITI: bombing, calligraphy and emotional expressions along the streets” presented by the PhD student Marta R. Bisceglia. (4) “Representing the Chinese contemporary calligraphy: the WRITE digital archive” presented by the PhD student Katarina Lučić.
