The Art of TxT: Between Calligraphy and Writing 

    We are pleased to announce the event “The Art of TxT: Between Calligraphy and Writing”, scheduled for December 11 and 12, 2024, at the DIT Lab and Aula Nassirya, Forlì Campus. 

    We are thrilled to host TxT, an enigmatic graffiti artist and self-taught calligrapher celebrated for redefining urban art through bold and innovative creations.

    LIVE PAINTING PERFORMANCE 

    TxT will create a mural at the DIT Lab, providing an extraordinary demonstration of his visionary talent.

    ARTIST TALK 

    Introduced by Prof. Adriana Iezzi, TxT will engage in a conversation with Dr. Marta R. Bisceglia, research fellow at DIT and expert in Chinese graffiti.  

    The discussion will delve into the mural created for the University, the significance of his artistic language, the current state of graffiti in China, and the intersections between graffiti and Chinese calligraphy.

    Who is TxT? 

    TxT is a mysterious graffiti writer and multidisciplinary artist who operates under a shroud of anonymity, enabling him to challenge the conventions of urban art through unauthorized practices. Primarily self-taught, his calligraphic work is deeply inspired by traditional artworks, which he studies and meticulously replicates. Through his innovative techniques, TxT invites audiences to explore the complex intersections of identity, culture, and artistic expression. 

    This event is free and open to the public, with no prior registration required. 

    The event is part of the ERC Starting Grant project “Write – New Forms of Calligraphy in China: A Contemporary Culture Mirror” (GA no. 949645).
